Hey my sweet little friends!
I hope you are all having such a fun time this summer and staying cool.
Charlie and I are camping on the top of a mountain in Honduras right now! We’ll be up here for all of May and most of June. It takes us an hour to get down the mountain to the nearest town called Comayagua.
Here’s a picture of Charlie with the tent we share.
There’s lots to be done when you live on a mountain and here are a few things that have kept us busy.
First there’s lots of firewood to be gathered! Our Honduran friends went with us into the woods and cut down the trees and we carried them back to camp. We use this firewood to cook all our meals in a mud stove. Charlie really liked helping with this and carried logs as big as he could.
Another job Charlie loves to help with is carrying bamboo. We’re using the bamboo to build a new church building for the people who live up here on the mountain. To get the bamboo we go down the mountain about half a mile to a coffee farm, then we cut down the bamboo with machetes and carry it back up to camp so it can be used to build the church.
But don’t worry, charlie and I have some fun too! Here’s Charlie eating some sugar cane that our Honduran friends cut for us. I know it looks like celery but it’s actually really sweet!
That’s all I have for today,
I love you lots and am praying for each one of you!
Love and Peace,
Ms Rebekah
