Hey friends!
Hey Guatemala!
Sorry my posts have been so scattered and random. God did so much in Costa Rica, but honestly I don’t have the words to describe it. Hopefully he will give me the words and I will be able to post some more blogs about my time there.
But now we’ve moved on to Guatemala and I want to share the moment with you all! We arrived here Sunday and as soon as we stepped off the plane I felt a peace that passes understanding. God is moving here and it’s so exciting to be able to join in what he’s already doing. We’re in a city these next two months which is a big change for our team but gives us so many more opportunities for interactions with people.
My team is staying in a house rented for us and it feels like home already. We spent our first couple days settling in and will be doing a lot of ATL (ask the Lord) these first couple of weeks.
What is ATL you might ask, well it’s just what it sounds like. We pray and ask the Lord what he has for us and then we do whatever he says. It can look really different for people. Our first day of ministry it looked a lot like praying over the community as we walked the streets. As we came to each turn we prayed and asked which way to go. We prayed over spaces and people we haven’t met yet and honestly it was really cool.
The other thing my team worked on is turning a empty lot into a park for the kids in the community. We spend a few hours pulling weeds, moving rocks and cleaning up trash. We also got to meet some of the kids as they came out to help.
That’s all for now,
Rebekah
It’s so fun to read about the work you are doing. I love that you were tasked with developing a community park. I feel like that is a gift that keeps giving! I look forward to hearing more about how the Lord is speaking to you in your new place over the next few weeks!
