Hi there,

I just realized I’ve been sharing my posts and my God stories with you, but I haven’t fully explained what I’m doing.

This has been a long journey for me and I sometimes forget that y’all haven’t been with me for all of it.

In June I’m going to have the incredible opportunity to go live in the Philippians for a month. I’ll be traveling to Manila with a group of young adults. I’m so excited to partner with Kid’s International Ministry (KIM) as they show the gospel to abandoned children and the poor! They are guided by James 1:27 and look to care for widows and orphans. KIM does a lot to shine light into the community, they have a children’s home that provides a loving, Christ-centered environment for 50 kids to get to just be kids and not have to worry about all the struggles that come with life on the streets. They have a school, not only for kids in the children’s home but for kids in the community as well. I’m really hoping I get to spend some time with these kiddos as that’s a passion God has put inside me.

KIM also does weekday feedings at different impoverished communities in the region, and sometimes they bring first-aid along to help with mild medical needs. This is such a great way to help people see Christ’s love in a tangible way. It’s hard to see a spiritual need when your physical needs are so front and center. I’ll be more than willing to help in this way, although I must admit it’s a lot more out of my comfort zone. I find medical and anyone over 12 very intimidating but I know if that’s how God chooses to use me He will provide a way for me to be helpful.

I can’t wait to love one those people and see God in action! I hope to get to teach some kiddos about Christ’s love and I look forward to learning from them too.

All my posts until June will be about my journey preparing for the Philippines, and then How God is working there.
