Hi there!
Welcome to my blog, you may want to know a little about me so here goes. My name is Rebekah (although I guess you already knew that from the page) and I’m 23 years old. God likes to keep me on my toes so in some aspects my life has never been what you call “normal” and then in other ways it’s so normal it seems unreal. I have two great parents who love Jesus and each other like crazy, and I have 3 brothers who drive me crazy but I love them anyway. I work at a homeschool fine arts academy called Artios as the Pre-K/Kinder Teacher and I love it! Getting to help these kiddos learn and grow has quickly made Tuesdays my favorite! I also work at fairs and festivals with my mom as the stage manager for a kid’s participation show called The Backyard Circus, we’ve performed at the Cajun Heartland State Fair in Lafayette, Louisiana and at the Great State Fair of Texas in Dallas, Texas as well as many smaller events. I love this part of my life, I’ve met such amazing people doing it and I also love the routine we establish when we’re on the road.
Random Facts about me:
- I love pink! Any pink but particularly bright pinks.
- My 3 brothers and I were all homeschooled K-12th grade
- I’ve known that God would use me in international missions since I was 7 or so
- I love reading Christian fiction novels
- Pictures of kiddos I love and with friends/family make me very happy
- I love volunteering with kids, teens are out of my comfort zone but God put me there anyway and I love my high school girlies!
- Jesus is my best friend, not in a corny way but in a I literally don’t know what I’d do without him way
- I was born and raised in a suburb of Atlanta, Georgia
- I have a close knit family
- I love games!! Board games, card games, word games, I love them all.
Obviously I love the word love and I thoroughly enjoy this life God has given me but my favorite thing? When do I feel most alive? When I get to show kids & teens who God is through His word. I love seeing the awe on a kindergartners face when they realize God has the power to calm a storm and walk on the waves, or the look on a student’s face as she develops a deeper understanding of who our great God really is. Teaching the bible story at a VBS to a class of 4 year olds this past summer sparked something in me that I desperately want to see more of.
I’ll be going on the world race in January 2021 and I’m super excited about it! I’ve traveled outside of the US before but never for this long and I’m so eager to see what God has in store for me and our team. I’m also excited to see what God has planned to show me in this season of preparation leading up to our departure. I’ll be posting my journey here so come back and visit for updates.
In Christ Jesus,
Rebekah
